Two schools who will name head coaches next week…

Shaw University (NC) – NCAA DII – Joel Hopkins will be named as the new head coach at Shaw.  HoopDirt.com first mentioned Hopkins as the “hot” name here back on 5/12 (Daily Dirt – 5/12/15).  Hopkins was the head coach at Shaw in the early 2000’s – he advanced to the NCAA DII Elite Eight in 2002 after winning the CIAA Championship.  The official announcement will be made on Tuesday.

Dawson CC (MT) – NJCAA – The finalists for this one were Shelby Lindley and Joe Peterson (JUCO DIRT: Dawson CC (MT) Finalists).  I can now confirm that Peterson is the choice – he has been offered and accepted the position.  He is a Dawson CC alum who has also been an assistant at Charleston Southern and Northwestern State.  The official announcement will be made sometime next week.
