The New York Post is the first to report that Seton Hall assistant Tiny Morton has resigned after one season with the Pirates. Morton joined Kevin Willard’s staff after a successful run as the head coach at Brooklyn’s Lincoln HS. It sounds like he will return to his job as a middle school math teacher, while his basketball plans are unknown. When Morton came aboard last summer, he brought with him Lincoln High standouts Isaiah Whitehead and Desi Rodriguez. Whitehead was selected to the All-Big East Rookie team following the season – he was also the Pirates second leading scores (12.0). Rodriguez played in all 31 games last season, and was the teams 3rd leading rebounder. The official announcement from Seton Hall on Morton’s departure is expected today.
