Siena assistant coach Darius Theus is headed back to his alma mater Virginia Commonwealth University as an assistant coach.

Theus, who joined the Siena staff last spring, was a big part of VCU’s 2011 Final Four squad. Before coming to Siena, Theus spent four seasons on Mike Rhoades staff at VCU as the Director of Player Development. He also worked for former VCU head coach Shaka Smart at Texas in 2017-18, also as the Director of Player Development.

There has been no official announcement yet, but new VCU head coach Ryan Odom posted the following earlier today on Twitter:
