Slippery Rock University athletic director Paul Lueken has announced the University is ending its contractual relationship with Kevin Reynolds, head men’s basketball coach, effective Jan. 25, 2019. The University will pay Reynolds for the time remaining on his contract including salary, medical and supplemental benefits, retirement contributions and life insurance premiums through June 4, 2021 as required under the current collective bargaining agreement.
“The administration believes this decision is in the best interest of Slippery Rock University and our men’s basketball program,” Lueken said. “We want to thank Kevin for his contributions to Rock basketball and wish him well going forward.”
Ian Grady, who was named acting head coach Nov. 2, 2018, will continue to lead the team throughout the remainder of the season.
Now in his 10th overall season with the Slippery Rock program, Grady served as the top assistant since the 2011-12 season. He came to The Rock in 2009 as a graduate assistant after finishing a successful playing career at Fairmont State, where he earned a degree in business and marketing. Grady completed his master’s degree in sport management at Slippery Rock in 2011 before accepting a full-time position at the University.
