Ty Conyers Elevated to UAlbany Men’s Basketball Director of Operations

Ty Conyers, previously the team’s video coordinator, has been promoted to the director of operations for the UAlbany men’s basketball team.

Conyers served as the team’s video coordinator this past season, cutting video for team scouting and preparation.  A graduate of UAlbany in 2014, as well as earning his Master’s Degree in 2015, Conyers was previously the team’s head manager, serving as a manager for four seasons.

“I’m extremely grateful to continue to work for the men’s basketball program at UAlbany,” said Conyers. “Working for my alma mater is a great opportunity, and I look forward to our continued success.”

“I am excited to promote Ty to Director of Basketball Operations,” said UAlbany head coach Will Brown. “He understands our program and has a tireless work ethic.  I expect that he will continue to have a positive impact on our program.”

Conyers has also been an assistant coach for the Queens College women’s basketball team for two years, helping the Knights to a combined 48-14 record, including a trip to the Division II Elite Eight in the 2016-17 season.

Conyers replaces David Steckel in the position, who stepped down to pursue a coaching opportunity.
