According to the Los Angeles Times, USC AD Pat Haden has already met with UTEP head coach Tim Floyd about the Trojan’s vacancy. Floyd was the head coach at USC from 2005-2009. He is currently in his third season at UTEP and has also coached the Bulls and Hornets in the NBA.
Another name mentioned is Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins. The Southern California native played for Jim Boeheim at Syracuse, and has been on his staff for the past 15 seasons.
We’ll keep an eye on this situation to see how it plays out. It seems like Haden wants to move quickly to get someone in place.
