Washington College Hires Assistant

Washington College head men’s basketball coach Aaron Goodman has announced the hiring of Nick Sparacino as an assistant coach for the Shoremen.

Sparacino played collegiate basketball first at Lesley University and then, for his final two seasons, at Salisbury University, where he served as a team captain during his senior season of 2014-15. The Sea Gulls won the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship in 2015 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time in 19 years. Sparacino received a Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Award from Salisbury as a senior for his success on the court and in the classroom.

In addition to playing for the Sea Gulls, Sparacino served as a student coach during the spring semester of his senior year, aiding the program in both recruiting and player development. That same semester, he was an intern with Salisbury’s Sports Performance Program, working with five nationally-ranked teams and a number of All-Americans.

Sparacino served as head boys U11 coach for Basketball 2 The Limit, an AAU travel program, in 2010 and 2011. He has also worked at a number of summer basketball camps in Maryland and New England.

Sparacino earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from Salisbury in May.
