HoopDirt.com can confirm that Nate Gamet has resigned his post as the head basketball coach at Cameron University (OK). Gamet led the Aggies to a 16-12 record this past season, and was tabbed as the Lone Star Conference Co-Coach of the year for his efforts. I have heard that Gamet has resigned in order to accept a job offer in his home state of Missouri.
I have also heard that current assistant coach Andrew Brown will be elevated to head coach to replace Gamet. Brown, who joined the CU staff this past July, is the former head coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State where he led the Rangers from 2007-15 and complied an overall record of 119-112. He was named as the Great American Conference (GAC) Coach of the Year in 2013.
The official announcement is expected shortly.
