Some things from the Grand Canyon State…

University of Arizona: With the departure of Damon Stoudamire to Memphis, it looks like Marquette assistant Mark Phelps is headed to Tucson as his replacement.  Phelps spent 1996-2001 working with Arizona head coach Sean Miler – they were both assistants at NC State.  Phelps also spent five seasons as the head coach at Drake, and has also been an assistant at Arizona State and Missouri.

Arizona State: With Mark Pehlps on the way to Arizona, it sounds like his replacement will be Arizona State assistant Stan Johnson.  Johnson was part of Herb Sendak’s staff at ASU, and retained earlier this spring by new head coach Bobby Hurley.  He has also been and assistant at Drake and Utah.

Northern Arizona: HoopDirt.com reported back on 5/15 that Northen Arizona DBO Landon Cosby had departed the Lumberjacks staff (Daily Dirt – 5/15/15).  I have now heard that he will land as an assistant at Eastern Oregon.  Last season was hs first at NAU – he had been an assistant at Salt Lake Community College for three seasons before that.
