Former Alabama head coach Anthony Grant will return to Florida and re-join Billy Donovan’s staff. Grant was a long-time assistant to Donovan at UF – the pair worked together from 1996-2006. After his time on the Gators staff, Grant became the head coach at VCU where he had a ton of success, going 76-25 (.752) in his three seasons at the helm. Grant spent the past five seasons as the head coach at Alabama before being dismissed earlier this spring (99-71). The Miami native began his coaching career in the high school ranks in Florida. He has also been an assistant at Stetson (FL), and Marshall. The spot on the Florida staff opened up Sunday night when assistant coach Matt McCall became the head coach at Tennessee-Chattanooga.
