BREAKING: Washington out at Grambling
Following up on a rumor from today….I can now confirm that Bobby Washington is no longer the head coach at Grambling. We first reported it this morning in our Daily Dirt (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/5c8854b4/daily-dirt-3-19-12/…). I’ve learned that he will remain with the University in a yet to be determined role. More on this as it becomes official.

Mississippi State search update
Here is an update on the search to replace Rick Stansbury at Mississippi State…. Mississippi State AD Scott Stricklin is going with Parker Executive Search to help identify candidates. This is a very similar situation with the search to replace Bruce Weber at Illinois – PES helped hire Strickland, as they did with Illinois AD
SCF coach resigns
State College of Florida head coach Joe Whelton has resigned. Whelton had only spent one season at SCF. He felt that he could not accomplish what he wanted to with the position being part-time. Assistant coaches Lem Andrews and Altron Jackson will remain on the staff until a new coach is hired. Stay with HoopDirt
HOT RUMOR: Hurley to URI
Multiple sources are reporting that Wagner head coach Danny Hurley will be the choice to replace Jim Baron at the University of Rhode Island.
