The DirtKing is back!

I took the DirtFamily on a quick vacation after camp – I’m finally back! Mr. Dirt did a great job of keeping the news and jobs updated. I will sort through my emails and all of the contact submissions and get some new rumors, etc. up shortly!

Vincennes U. rumor….

I’ve heard this from a few guys over the past few days – it appears that Vincennes University will hire Indian Hills head coach Jeff Kidder. He would replace David Ragland who became an assistant at Indiana State last month. Kidder lead his Indian Hills squad to 25-8 record last season.

UIC Rumors

Here are some of the names that I’ve been hearing to replace Jimmy Collins at Illinois-Chicago: Howard Moore – Assistant Coach Wisconsin. A Chicago native. Has spent the past 10 seasons recruiting Chicago while at Wisconsin, Bradley, Ball Sate, and Loyola (Chicago). Ernie Kent – Former Head Coach Oregon. A native of Rockford, Illinois. Jerrance

DK’s rumors….

A few quick items…. It sounds like Jerry Hobbie is the front runner for the open assistant spot at SMU. He spent the past three seasons at Houston. Former St. John’s assistant Fred Quartlebaum is also in the mix, but it sounds like it will go to Hobbie. Expect the official announcement after 8/1. DII

Indiana State rumor….

I’ve heard that Vincennes JC head coach David Ragland has resigned and will join the staff at Indiana State. Ragland had been the head coach at VU for the past two seasons, and had been an assistant for three seasons before that. He apparently told his players of the move over the July 4th holiday.
