HoopDirt.com can confirm that TCU assistant David Patrick will become the next head basketball coach at UC-Riverside. HoopDirt.com mentioned Patrick and his involvement here back on Saturday in the Weekend Dirt. He will replace Dennis Cutts who was fired back on January 1st. According to a report by 14 News, Evansville has fired head basketball coach Marty Simmons. In his 11 seasons at the helm, the Evansville alum has amassed a 184-174 record. The Purple Aces were 17-15 (7-11 MVC) this past year. An official statement is expected tomorrow.

According to a report by Jon Rothstein, Georgia has offered their job to former Ohio State head coach Thad Matta. He would replace Mark Fox who was fired over the weekend after eight seasons with the Bulldogs. Matta spent 13 seasons at OSU (337-123) and was also the head coach at Butler (2000-01 – 24-8)

According to an ESPN report, former NC State head coach Mark Gottfried is expected to be named as the next coach at Cal State Northridge. He would replace Reggie Theus who was fired last week.
