Looking forward to two great games tonight! Here are a few things that I’ve heard while getting ready to watch…

• Yesterday, I mentioned Will Wade (UTC), Mike Rhoades (Rice) and Anthony Grant (former head coach at Alabama and VCU) as names to watch at VCU. I’ve now been told to add Mt. St. Mary’s head coach Jaimon Christian to this list. He is a former Shaka Smart assistant at VCU who just wrapped up his third season at The Mount.

• Mark Downey’s name has been “hot” lately…he is currently the interim head coach at Bowling Green (took over for Chris Jans last week), and it believed to have a legitimate shot replacing Jans on a permanent basis. I have also heard that Downey interviewed at Arkansas-Little Rock last week. Downey is the former head coach at Arkansas Tech, Charleston (WVa.), and West Alabama – he owns a 155-83 career record.

• A few names that I have heard in the search to replace Eddie Barnes at Tallahassee CC: Mark White (head coach – East Mississippi College), Don Hogan (associate head coach Coastal Carolina), and Kris Baumann (head coach Trinity Valley CC – a former Tallahassee assistant). It sounds like this search will be wrapped up shortly.

• It sounds like the search at Concordia (Chicago) is winding down as well. Two of the names that have heard are: Todd Adrian (former head coach at Otterbein and Edgewood), and Nate Vogel (assistant coach Maryville [MO]). They are in the hunt to replace Tyler Jones who departed earlier this spring.

• I have heard some crazy names at DIII Otterbein (OH), including one long-tenured very successful DIII head coach. More on this shortly…
