Some things that I have heard today…

• TCU head coach Jamie Dixon will hire Louisiana Tech assistant Corey Barker as his third assistant. He joins Ryan Miller (UNLV) and David Patrick on Dixon’s staff.  Barker has also been an assistant at Bowling Green and Arkansas State. He’s a Houston native with deep Texas recruiting ties.

• I have heard that Jean Bain will be named as an assistant at Columbia. He had spent the past four seasons on Paul Cormier’s staff at Dartmouth. The former America East Rookie of the Year (Northeastern – 1999) also spent time as an assistant at New Hampshire and WPI.

• On Sunday night, I mentioned some guys involved with the assistant spots at Nicholls State (Sunday Dirt). I can now confirm that Clarendon College (TX) head coach Isaac Amedee will remain in his current position, and will not be joining Richie Riley’s staff.

• I mentioned the search at DII Point Loma Nazarene on Sunday as well…it now sounds like a former two-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year is the leader, and may in fact be the choice here. More on this when I confirm it.

• The search at DII Simon Frasier (the only Canadian NCAA school) is down to four. It looks like the final group includes three Canadian coaches and one from a U.S. school. More on this soon.
