Daily Dirt – 6/28/19

A bunch of things to close out the week…

  • I mentioned back on 6/3 that Chinedu Nwachukwu was the leader for the opening at Dartmouth. I have heard that he was offered the job, but will now be headed to Youngstown State instead. He had been on John Beilein’s staff since 2016-17, and was the DBO at Milwaukee before that.

  • Word on the street is that Holy Cross wants a new coach in place no later than 7/10. This one is moving quickly with Parker running it. Will have a better update shortly.

  • I have heard that Tyrone Green will be added to Will Wade’s staff at LSU in an administrative role (video coordinator?). Green served as a manager under Wade at VCU and also worked there for Mike Rhoades.
  • The leader for the vacant assistant spot at Boise State is a current NAIA head coach (from the south). More on this one soon…

  • It sounds like Weber State head coach Randy Rahe will promote Jorge Ruiz from Video Coordinator to Director of Basketball Operations. Before coming to Weber State, Ruiz had served as a manager at Grand Canyon and ASU.

  • I have heard from multiple sources that South Puget Sound CC will hire Westminster College (Mo.) associate head coach Andrew Green as their new head basketball coach. Green had been at WC for the past five seasons, and was an assistant at William Woods before that.

  • Dyersburg State Community College (TN) has hired David Anderson as their head basketball coach. He served as the associate head coach at Southern Arkansas University last season, and also worked as an assistant at Martin Methodist (TN).

  • Defiance College (OH) will hire Matt Woods as their graduate assistant. Woods just wrapped up his playing career at Barton College (NC).

  • In case you missed it earlier today…Colby CC (KS) will name Rusty Elmore as their new head coach. More HERE.
