Frost Joins Western Oregon Men’s Basketball Staff

Patrick Frost has been added as an assistant men’s basketball coach on Jim Shaw’s staff at Western Oregon University.

Frost comes to WOU after spending the two seasons as the Video Coordinator at the University of San Diego. His duties included coordinating all video & film exchange, compiling team video playbooks, assisting with recruiting and helping with opponent scouting reports.

In 2018 San Diego won 20 games for the first time since 2008, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the College Insider Tournament. USD had three players earn All-West Coast Conference accolades in 2018.

Prior to USD, Frost spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Whitworth University, in which the Pirates complied a record of 74-12. Along the way, Whitworth won three Northwest Conference Championships and advanced to three NCAA Division III National Tournaments.

Frost coached three All-Americans while at Whitworth, along with numerous all-league players. In 2016, Whitworth finished 26-2, and spent four weeks ranked as the No. 1 team in the country.

Frost’s coaching duties included recruiting, assisting with offensive strategy, putting together scouting reports for upcoming opponents, planning guard/wing positional breakdowns during practice, and running individual workouts.

Frost lives in Independence and earned his master’s degree in leadership studies from USD in 2018.
