Louisville Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Mack is now officially on a 20-day suspension, which will cause him to miss six games. The suspension is from the University of Louisville, and not from the NCAA. It was issued because of how Coach Mack handled the Dino Gaudio extortion case. More from WLKY HERE.


The Eastern Kentucky University men’s basketball program broke the record for most season tickets sold. The Colonels open the season tomorrow against Georgetown College at McBrayer Arena. It is the 19th program record that has been broken during head coach A.W. Hamilton‘s tenure. More HERE.


Former Arizona head coach Sean Miller, and his brother, former Indiana head coach Archie Miller are starting a podcast called “Next Play, with the Miller Brothers.” The description: “Sean and Archie Miller are both moving on. For the first time in their professional lives, neither are coaching this season, which makes this the perfect time for them to launch a podcast. ‘Next Play’ is a coaching mantra. Speaking of Indiana…new Hoosiers head coach Mike Woodson said he’s expecting about 30 to 40 family members and friends to attend tomorrow’s opener against Eastern Michigan. “To step back out on that floor in front of the fans that’s going to come out and support us, I’m really looking forward to it,” Woodson said. “But, at the end of the day, I mean this is what we do. I coach, and it’s all about these players and trying to get them to play at a high level, compete at a high level and win. So that’s only my focus. ”More from Woodson HERE.

New UTEP head coach Joe Golding sat down with KTSM 9 to discuss all things UTEP basketball ahead of their Tuesday opener against Western New Mexico University. From his transition from Abilene Christian to UTEP, to recruiting and expectations in 2021-22, Golding hits on it all in five good minutes HERE.


CSUN interim head coach Trent Johnson on his experience so far, “It’s exciting, but it’s been very challenging,” Johnson said. “I’ve never been involved in anything like this, whether I’ve been an assistant coach or a head coach.” Previous coach, Mark Gottfried – and his staff – are still on paid administrative leave since April for rules violations. Jacob Stallings, the son of former Vanderbilt, Pitt, and Illinois State head coach Kevin Stallings, won a Gold Glove Award for the best catcher in the National League. The Pirates catcher led the National League with 21 defensive runs saved, which tied Astros shortstop Carlos Correa as the most by any player. In 103 starts Stallings did not allow a passed ball.
