Men’s Basketball Coaching Change made at Mission University (MO)

Mission University will be experiencing several changes this season in their athletic department.  Mission will be jumping to dual membership with the National Christian Colleges Athletic Association and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, which will lead to scheduling changes and more opportunities for the fan base to experience college athletics.

One major change for the upcoming season was the recent announcement that Head Men’s Basketball Coach Darin Meinders will be handing over the reins of the team to his former Associate Head Coach and son, Dallas Meinders.  Darin Meinders will still remain the Athletic Director at MU, but will also take over the Men’s Golf Team that Dallas had previously coached.

When asked about the change, Darin Meinders had the following to say, ” In this moment, I couldn’t be more excited for the Men’s Basketball legacy that we have created.  As I reflect on our achievements, I am filled with great anticipation for the many opportunities that lie ahead.  It is with great pleasure that I turn over the reins of leadership to my son, Dallas Meinders. For decades, he has been a devoted disciple of the game, honing his wisdom and expertise.  It is with complete confidence that I entrust him to nurture the program’s triumphs further, producing new chapters of excellence for Mission U.”

Dallas Meinders had the following to say about the change, “I am honored to accept the position of Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Mission University.  MU has a rich basketball tradition. I have been in a blessed situation, being able to learn from my father, Missouri Sports Hall of Famer, Darin Meinders.  I am unbelievably thrilled to pick up where he left off. Thank you in the MU Administration for believing in me and entrusting me in this position.  I can’t wait to continue the legacy that has been built here.  God Bless and Go Patriots!”
