Baruch College has announced the appointment of Dylan Minnick as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program.

The announcement was made on Thursdayby Baruch College Director of Athletics and Recreation, Heather Mac Culloch.

Minnick will assist Head Coach Tammer Farid with all major tasks for the Bearcats’ six-time CUNYAC championship program.

“Dylan knows the Baruch Way firsthand as a former player and graduate of our program”, said Coach Farid. “He is an outstanding young coach whose ability to teach, connect with players, and accelerate their development will be a tremendous asset to our program.”

A recent Baruch College graduate, Minnick earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy in 2025. He was a standout member of the Bearcats men’s basketball team, competing as a guard from 2021-22 through 2024-25 and serving as team captain during his senior season.

Throughout his collegiate career, Minnick distinguished himself both on the court and in the classroom, earning numerous accolades for his academic and athletic achievements. His honors include the 2021-22 CUNYAC Winter/Spring Scholar-Athlete Award, recognition on the 2022 Spring Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll, and the 2024-25 Baruch Men’s Basketball Coaches Award.

As a player, Minnick helped lead the Bearcats to one of the most successful stretches in program history. He was a three-time CUNYAC Champion (2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25) and made three NCAA Tournament appearances. He also played in the CUNYAC Championship game during each of his four seasons with the program. During his tenure, Baruch compiled an impressive 77-34 overall record and a 36-6 conference mark.

In addition to his collegiate accomplishments, Minnick brings seven years of coaching experience with Steady Buckets Basketball, one of New York City’s premier youth basketball programs. The non-profit organization focuses on youth development through year-round basketball training and mentorship.

Over the course of his time with Steady Buckets, Minnick advanced from assistant coach to head coach, mentoring thousands of young athletes. He was responsible for developing and implementing practice plans while fostering strong relationships with players, families, and fellow coaches. His commitment to player development, leadership, and community engagement has made a lasting impact on the program.

The Baruch College Athletic Department is proud to welcome Minnick back to the Bearcat family and looks forward to his contributions to the continued success of the men’s basketball program.
