OFFICIAL: Joe Sullivan Named DBO at Harvard

HoopDirt.com first mentioned this hiring back on August 18th (DBO DIRT).  It has now been made official, Harvard head coach Tommy Amaker has announced the hiring of Joe Sullivan as the team’s director of basketball operations for the upcoming 2015-16 season.

Sullivan comes to Cambridge from Xavier where he spent five years with the program, including four seasons as a student manager before serving as a graduate assistant for the 2014-15 campaign.

While at Xavier, Sullivan’s primary responsibilities included assisting in the organization and distribution of equipment through Nike elite, organizing the recruiting database, advance scouting of opponents and assisting with Xavier’s connection with the greater Cincinnati community. He also aided the coaching staff in limited on-court activities during practice, advance scouting and on-campus recruiting.

The Musketeers reached the NCAA tournament four times during Sullivan’s tenure, including two appearances in the Sweet 16 in 2012 and 2015.

Sullivan, a native of Duxbury, Massachusetts, graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in 2010. He received his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Xavier in 2014 and is currently pursuing his master’s in sport administration.
