The search to replace Dave Wojcik as the head coach at San Jose State is winding down. The final group of four coaches have officially wrapped up their on campus interviews, and an announcement is expected on Monday.
I can confirm that current interim head coach Rodney Tention is in the mix. He has been at SJSU since 2015, and took over on an interim basis after Wojcik resigned back on July 10th. Tention has also served as an assistant at both Arizona and Stanford.
Another “hot” name here is TCU assistant head coach David Patrick. He has been on Jamie Dixon’s staff since last spring, and has also worked as an assistant at LSU, and spent time as a scout for the Houston Rockets.
I have also heard that a former NBA player (and current DII head coach) was one of the final four.
More on the final DI search of the off-season as I hear it…
