Following-up on a couple of tweets that I sent earlier today…
New Santa Clara head coach Herb Sendek has moved quickly to assemble his staff. I can confirm that he had hired Julius Hodge, Barret Peery, and Jason Ludwig as assistant coaches. Hodge spent last season as the director of player development at Buffalo. He played at NC State for Sendek where he was the ACC Player of the Year in 2003-04. Hodge was first round NBA pick who played for the Nuggets and Bucks before finishing his career overseas. Peery had previously been an assistant on Sendek’s staff at Arizona State. Before that, he had a great run as a JC head coach, leading Indian Hills CC to a 93-11 record over three seasons. He also spent time as an assistant at Utah. Ludwig spent last season as the director of operations for Ben Howland at Mississippi State. Prior to joining Howland’s staff, he spent two seasons in the same capacity at Arizona State under Sendek.
The moves are expected to be officially announced shortly.
