Saint Michael’s College men’s basketball head coach Michael Harding has announced the hiring of Jon Rock as the Purple Knights’ second assistant coach. A native of South Burlington, Rock was an assistant coach for the past four seasons at Norwich University (VT).
Rock served as a varsity boys’ assistant coach at Rice Memorial High School, his alma mater, during the 2006-07 season, leading the team to the Division I state title. Rock was previously the junior varsity boys’ head coach for two seasons at Rice.
A four-year member of the Norwich men’s basketball team, Rock was a captain during his junior and senior seasons. As a senior in 2000-01, he led the Cadets in scoring (13.0), assists per game (5.2) and free throw shooting (84.9%). Rock completed his degree in communications in 2009.
