SUNY Oneonta Men’s Basketball Staff Update

 The SUNY Oneonta men’s basketball program announced three new additions to its coaching staff on Wednesday. Head coach Cameron Conover introduced the hirings of Tanner KallfelzWilliam Zuntag, and Nick Doran.

After serving as a student assistant and manager, Tanner Kallfelz returns to Oneonta as an assistant coach. He brings a versatile skill set and will focus on player development and recruiting.  “Tanner is an extremely hard worker who offers invaluable support to our staff and is committed to helping our team improve both on and off the court,” said Coach Conover.

William Zuntag also returns to Oneonta as an assistant coach, having previously held student assistant and manager roles. He specializes in analytics, aiming to leverage statistical analysis to enhance team performance. “Will was an excellent addition as a student assistant last year, and we are excited to see him take on a more significant role, using his insights to improve the team,” stated Conover.

Nick Doran joins Oneonta after serving the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Hartwick College. Before Hartwick, he was on the College of Staten Island (CSI) staff, where he held various positions, including assistant coach, associate head coach, and interim head coach, contributing to an impressive overall record of 109-66. Additionally, Doran has experience with the Hoop Group Organization, one of the nation’s premier basketball instruction companies, where he worked at various camps, including the Elite Camp and NY Top 100 camp. “Coach Doran brings a wealth of experience to our coaching staff, and we are extremely excited to welcome him to the Oneonta Red Dragon community,” said Conover.

Oneonta begins the season on November 7 at Binghamton.
