Conroy offered UNC-Wilmington job

Citadel Head Coach Ed Conroy has been offered the job at UNC-Wilmington according to our sources. Conroy’s base salary at UNCW would be in the in the $250,000 range – a definite upgrade of his $175,000 package at the Citadel. I’ll keep you updated as I hear more.

Welsh to Hofstra??

Former Providence head coach Tim Welsh interviewed yesterday at Hofstra and sources are reporting he will be introduced as the head coach as early as today. We will keep you updated on this when it becomes official.

Houston to hire Dickey

Multiple sources have told me that former Texas Tech Head Coach will take over at Houston. The announcement may come as early as tomorrow. Dickey was the Head Coach at Texas Tech from 1991-2001 and then worked at Oklahoma State from 2002-2008. He worked for legendary head coach Eddie Sutton at both OSU and Kentucky.

Kowalczyk to Toledo

Toledo will hold a 3:00 press conference today to announce Tod Kowalczyk as the new Head Basketball Coach. Kowalczyk has been the head coach at Wisconsin-Green Bay for the past 8 seasons (136-112) and was an assistant at Marquette before that. He replaces Gene Cross who resigned last month.

Boston College begins interviews

Boston College is moving quickly to replace recently departed Head Coach Al Skinner. The first candidate to be interviewed will be Fairfield Head Coach Ed Cooley. Cooley will meet with BC officials on Wednesday. Cooley was an assistant at BC for 9 seasons under Skinner before taking over at Farifield. BC has also reached out

BREAKING: Kearney fired at Holy Cross

After only one season on the job, Holy Cross has fired Head Coach Sean Kearney. The Crusaders were 9-22 this year- with the 22 losses being the most in the history of the program. The search for a new coach will begin immediately.

St. Michael’s finalists

DII St. Michael’s College (VT) has narrowed it’s search down to five candidates.
