Conroy headed to Tulane

Sources are confirming that The Citadel’s Ed Conroy will be named Head Coach at Tulane tomorrow. Conroy officially turned down the UNC-Wilmington job earlier today paving the way for him to accept the Tulane offer. Sources also say that Mike Rice (Robert Morris) was offered the job first, but turned it down.

One of the longest searches out there is still going. After firing head coach Benny Moss on January 28th, the search for his successor continues. We know that Citadel head coach Ed Conroy was offered the job last week. We hear that he has not accepted it yet because he has gotten involved at Marshall.

Sources are telling us that former BU coach Dennis Wolf has already interviewed for the open position. Next up is UMass Lowell head coach Greg Hernda, he will be meeting with Dick Regan on Monday.

Mooney Staying at Richmond

Chris Mooney withdrew as a candidate at Boston College to sign a contract extension at Richmond through the 2016-17 season. The contract will likely pay him around 700k a season.

Theus Interviewed at DePaul

Former Bulls star Reggie Theus interviewed for the DePaul job yesterday. Theus’ resume includes experience coaching in the NBA as a head coach with the Kings and currently as an assistant with the Timberwolves. He was also the head coach at New Mexico State for two years were he went 41-23.
