Blinn College (TX) assistant coach Stott Carter has been named as the new head basketball coach at Lawson State (AL).

Carter has been an assistant at Blinn for the past three seasons. He served as the head coach at DII Eastern New Mexico from 2014-16, and was also an assistant at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Pfeiffer, Kilgore, and Central Florida CC. He began his career as a graduate assistant under Billy Donovan at Florida.

Carter was recently named as the 2018-19 Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) assistant coach of the year for the junior college level.
