TCU’s Barker becomes second assistant suspended in bribery case.
In what has been a very busy few days in the college basketball pay-for-play bribery scandal, another assistant coach has been placed on administrative leave. TCU Director of Athletics Jeremiah Donati has released the following statement regarding Horned Frogs assistant Corey Barker:
“While TCU conducts an internal review, assistant men’s basketball coach Corey Barker has been placed on administrative leave. In light of the ongoing judicial process and our institutional practice of not discussing personnel matters, we will have no further comment.”
Barker is accused of accepting a $6,000 payment from middleman Christian Dawkins in a Las Vegas hotel room in July of 2017.
TCU is the second school to suspend an assistant coach, as Creighton suspended Preston Murphy last night.
