Calhoun Press Conference

UConn has scheduled a press conference for tomorrow at 10:45am to announce a new deal for head coach Jim Calhoun. The deal is said to be 5-years and worth $13 million.

Mount St. Mary’s Hires Burke

Mount St. Mary’s has hired American assistant Rob Burke as its new head coach. Prior to American, Burke was an assistant for five seasons at Georgetown. Mount St. Mary’s will formally introduce Burke at a news conference Monday at 2 p.m.

Minnesota State Finalists

Minnesota State University Moorhead has narrowed its search to four finalists for the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, which includes Brian Dolan, Ty Orton, Jeff Kaminsky and Chad Walthall. Brian Dolan- Current head coach at Upper Iowa, has a 29-81 record in 4 seasons. Ty Orton- Head Coach at Dickinson State (N.D.), will interview this week.

Hofstra Hires Cassara

Multiple sources are reporting that Hofstra assistant Mo Cassara has been named head coach. Cassara was hired by Tim Welsh a month ago. He had spent the last 4 seasons as an assistant at BC.

Coen to receive extension at Northeastern

Sources have told me that Northeastern head coach Bill Coen has agreed to a contract extension at Northeastern. Coen’s Huskies won 20 games this past season, and he was involved with jobs at Siena and Boston College in the off-season. Terms of the new deal have not been made public yet.

Adelphi coach headed to Trinity

Adelphi Head Coach James Cosgrove has resigned his position to take a similar job at DIII Trinity College. Cosgrove was 166-77 during his career at Adelphi including a 22-11 record this year. He has previous DIII experience – he was the head coach at Endicott College from 1997-2002 (73-60).
