The Week 3 winners are:

NCAA DI: Eric Musselman – University of Nevada

Musselman’s fifth-ranked Wolfpack remained hot last week, winning two road games to run their record to 8-0 on the season. Nevada traveled to Loyola (Chicago) on Tuesday where they avenged a one-point loss to the Ramblers in last year’s South Regional semifinal game. The Wolfpack jumped out to a 44-28 halftime lead, and never looked back as they defeated the Ramblers 79-65. Musselman’s squad then headed to sunny Southern California where they rallied from a halftime deficit to beat USC 73-61. This is now the second year in a row that Nevada has gotten off to an 8-0 start. The Pack have also won every game this season by double figures.

NCAA DII: Jeff Price – Lynn University (FL) Jeff Price

Lynn University remains hot to start the season under head coach Jeff Price, going 2-0 last week to improve their record to 6-0. Not included in the 6-0 mark is an early season exhibition win over cross-town rival DI Florida Atlantic. The Fighting Knights got their first Sunshine State Conference win of the year on Wednesday when they defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 86-70. They then traveled to SSC foe Rollins College on Friday where knocked off the Tars 90-80 to stay perfect on the season. The win at Rollins was their first regular season there since the 2014-15 season. That season was also the last time the Lynn started the year 6-0.

NCAA DIII: Jimmy Smith – Millsaps College (MS) Smith 18-19

Second-year head coach Jimmy Smith has Millsaps College rolling, as a 3-0 week improves their record to 8-0 to start the season. The Majors are now just one win away from matching their entire win total from last season. Smith’s crew had a big second half on Tuesday en route to a 70-55 win over visiting Centenary College (LA). Millsaps then hit the road for two games in Texas, where they knocked off Austin College 90-67 on Friday, and the led wire-to-wire in a 70-60 win at the University of Dallas.

NAIA: Rocky Lamar – MidAmerica Nazarene University (KS) image 31

NAIA Hall of Famer Rocky Lamar’s Pioneers had a monster 3-0 week, which included knocking off the #2 team in the nation on a buzzer beater. MNU recorded Heart of America Athletic Conference wins over Missouri Valley College 76-71 (Tuesday), and Evangel University 79-69 (Thursday), setting up a home date with second ranked William Penn University. After clawing back from a seven-point halftime deficit, MNU junior center Dakota Quinn knocked down a baseline jumper as time expired to give the Pioneers (7-3) the upset victory.

JUCO: Nkrumah Jones – Bunker Hill Community College (MA) MBB-HC-NJones

Coach Jones and his Bunker Hill CC squad have now ripped off ten straight wins, including three this past week. The Bulldogs (10-1 / 9-0 Region 21) beat visiting Quinsigamond CC 79-61 at home on Tuesday to start the week. They then dismantled MassBay CC 107-51 on Thursday, and followed that one up with a drubbing of UConn Avery Point on the road 101-51 Saturday afternoon. BHCC’s average margin of victory on the season is now 23.3 points per game, and they should be ranked in the NJCAA’s first in-season national poll which is due out this week.
