BROOKDALE CC HEAD COACH PAUL CISEK NAMED HOOPDIRT.COM JUNIOR COLLEGE COACH OF THE YEAR PRESENTED BY JUST PLAY SOLUTIONS

Brookdale Community College (NJ) Head Basketball Coach Paul Cisek has been named as the HoopDirt.com Junior College Coach of the Year presented by Just Play Solutions for the 2017-18 college basketball season. Cisek qualified for the award by being named as the HoopDirt.com/Just Play Solutions Coach of the Week for Week 11 of the college basketball season.
Coach Cisek led the Jersey Blues to an undefeated season, finishing at 34-0, and capturing the NJCAA Division III National Championship. Cisek’s squad dominated all season long, outscoring opponents by 25.0 points per game during the regular season and 21.6 points per game during the National Tournament. 29 of Brookdale’s 34 wins on the season came by double-digits, and they scored an astonishing 95.9 points per game, good for fifth in the country.
Brookdale became the first team since Sullivan County Community College in 2007 to record an undefeated championship season. Coach Cisek took home his second career National Championship, also having won the title in 2013. He won the NJCAA DIII National Coach of the Year that year as well, and won the Gary Cole Coach of the Tournament this year for his efforts throughout the National Tournament. This was also a milestone season for Coach Cisek, as on December 7, he collected his 500th career win in a 107-71 victory against Atlantic Cape Community College. In his 26-year career at Brookdale, Cisek has gone 525-235, capturing 9 GSAC Championships, 5 Region XIX Championships, and 2 National Championships.
