Milwaukee Area Technical College Head Coach Randy Casey has been named as the HoopDirt.com JUCO Coach of the Year presented by Just Play Solutions for the 2019-20 college basketball season. Casey qualified for the award by being named as the HoopDirt.com/Just Play Solutions Coach of the Week for Week 14 of the season.
This past season, Casey guided MATC to a 31-1 record, closing out the campaign on a 24-game winning streak and capturing the Region IV Championship for the second year in a row. The Stormers were ranked inside the NJCAA DII Top-10 for the entire season, taking over the No. 1 ranking on February 17th and never looking back.
MATC went 14-0 in N4C play, and took the league’s regular season title for the first time in program history. Of their program-record 31 victories, 25 came by double-digits.
For his efforts, Coach Casey was awarded both the N4C and District 3 (Midwest A) Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season. He also picked up his 400th career victory as a head men’s coach on January 29th. In his 12 seasons at the helm of MATC, Coach Casey has compiled a record of 230-148. He previously spent 12 years as the head coach at Mid-State Technical College.
