WEEK 10: HoopDirt.com Coach of the Week presented by Just Play Solutions

Congratulations to the following coaches who have been selected as the Week 10 HoopDirt.com Coach of the Week presented by Just Play Solutions. These coaches are now eligible to receive the HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by Just Play Solutions which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2022-23 college basketball season.

This is the eighth season that HoopDirt.com has run the Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs. The list of 2022-23 Coach of the Week winners, as well as the list of all-time COY winners can be found following this week’s honorees.

The Week 10 winners are:


NCAA D1: Chris Victor – Seattle University

Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (14-4)
Past week’s results: 69-66 W vs New Mexico State, 85-80 W at Utah Valley
Highlights: Two more wins last week pushed Seattle’s win streak to six. They are now in sole possession of first place in the WAC (5-0) after knocking off Utah Valley on Saturday (who had been undefeated in the league). The win on Saturday also snapped UVU’s 11-game win streak.

NCAA D2: Johnny Estelle – Texas A&M Kingsville

Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (13-5)
Past week’s results: 66-48 W vs Dallas Baptist, 66-59 W vs UT Tyler
Highlights: Estelle’s squad has now won eight in a row, and remain undefeated (6-0) in the East Division of the Lone Star Conference. This past Saturday, the Javelina’s erased a 11-point halftime deficit and beat UT Tyler by 18 in the second half for the win.

NCAA D3: Sean Coffey – Utica College

Weekly record (overall): 3-0 (12-2)
Past week’s results: 85-81 W (OT) at #19 Nazareth, 72-53 W vs Elmira, 73-59 W vs Alfred
Highlights: A 3-0 week, which included an OT win at #19 Nazareth, has propelled Coffey’s group into first place in the Empire 8. In the Nazareth win, Utica trailed by 15 with just under eight minutes left to play – they came charging back and hit a shot at the buzzer to send the game to OT.

NAIA: Donald Reyes – Loyola University New Orleans

Weekly record (overall): 2-0 (15-2)
Past week’s results: 64-60 W vs Blue Mountain, 93-81 W vs Stillman
Highlights: After two more wins last week, first-year head coach Reyes has the #22 Wolf Pack alone atop the Southern States Athletic Conference at 10-0. They have also won 6 games in a row and remain unbeaten at home (10-0).

JUCO: Harley Fuller – Mohawk Valley CC

Weekly record (overall): 3-0 (13-2)
Past week’s results: 95-49 W at North Country, 108-59 W at Finger Lakes, 81-56 W vs Cayuga
Highlights: Three more dominant wins last week for Fuller and his Hawks have extended their winning streak to seven games, and moved them to a perfect 6-0 at home. Mohawk Valley is currently 10th in NJCAA D3 in scoring (85.7ppg), and won last week’s three games by an average margin of 40.
