These coaches are now eligible to receive the HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by Just Play Solutions which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2022-23 college basketball season.
This is the eighth season that HoopDirt.com has run the Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs. The list of 2022-23 Coach of the Week winners, as well as the list of all-time COY winners can be found following this week’s honorees.

NCAA D1: Speedy Claxton – Hofstra University

Highlights: Three wins last week for the Pride pushed their winning streak to ten games – the 3rd longest active streak in the country. Hofstra is now in first place in the CAA (15-2), and hold a 10-1 record at home. |
NCAA D2: Jim Crutchfield – Nova Southeastern University
Weekly Record (Overall): 2-0 (25-0) |

Highlights: The perfect season continued last week for #1 Nova Southeastern as they are now 25-0 (18-0 SSC). The Sharks hold the longest current D2 winning streak in the nation, and are outscoring their opponents 105.4 to 76.5 (28.9 avg margin of victory). |
NCAA D3: Ryan Cain – Keene State College
Weekly record (overall): 2-0 (24-1) |
Past week’s results: 63-35 W at Castleton, 92-77 W vs UMass-Boston |
Highlights: By winning two games last week, Cain’s #5 Owls completed an undefeated Little East Conference regular season (16-0). They won 14 of 16 league games this year by double figures, and outscored opponents by just over 20 ppg on the season. |
NAIA: Ted Albert – Indiana Tech
Weekly record (overall): 2-0 (25-3) |
Past week’s results: 97-69 W vs Michigan-Dearborn, 90-79 W vs Lourdes |
Highlights: Albert’s #6 Warriors continue to roll with two more wins last week, including one over WHAC #2 Lourdes. They are now on a 10-game winning streak, and finished the regular season undefeated at home (10-0). The Warriors also captured the WHAC regular season title. |
JUCO: Jeff Reinert – College of Southern Idaho

Past week’s results: 79-65 W at Snow, 79-63 W vs Southern Nevada |
Highlights: The #1 NJCAA D1 team in the country continued their perfect season, and are now an unblemished 28-0. Reinert’s squad also captured their second Scenic West regular season championship in the past three seasons. They have two games remaining next week, and will then host the Region 18 tournament during the first week of March. |
